Description

from Dolly Parton's Smoky Mountain Adventures
Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Adventures Dinner & Show is a riveting, high energy and romantic production that takes guests on an exciting journey back to a time that tells a tale of Dolly’s own family history. Adventures and a spectacular old-fashioned Hootenanny feast await as the mountains are filled with high-flying action, music and more!

The great traditions of the Smoky Mountain people are proud and steeped in history. Food, Faith, and Family is the fiber that is woven throughout these mountains along with rivalry and romance. Our show includes a special love story on how Avie Lee Owens and Lee Parton got together and became Dolly’s Mom and Dad. However, it was not before a bit of competition had taken place between the Partons and Owens in the Great Smoky Mountain Family Contests.

Our story is filled with music, laughter, edge-of-your-seat special effects, thrilling specialty acts, competitions, and romance– the type that brings families together. Acrobatic performers will display their abilities on aerial silks suspended three stories above the stage; perform a balletic display above the stage on suspended hoops called Lyras; and will defy gravity in and on the amazing Electro-wheel, all within the context of Parton's exciting story.

Arrive early and enjoy the spirit of thrills and fun. Inside Bass Mercantile, kids of all ages can get a makeover and become a hearty Mountaineer or a beautiful Mountain Princess! We have snacks, music and more.

"Fun, energetic show"

We have been vacationing in this area 27 years and are always trying the new shows. We were pleasantly surprised at the show. The performance had a good historical story and the acrobatics was outstanding! The food was tasty and plentiful. Our opinion is the dinner show was well worth the money spent. The size and layout of the arena offered good views for all.

This is a must see show. It is really good and so is the food. Definitely worth the money. The actors were spot on with their words and music. Timing was impeccable. I was really impressed with the quickness of getting the food out and it was nice and hot.

"Christmas show"

Despite other reviews, we really enjoyed the Christmas show. The acrobatic moves were really nice. As a couple who crossfit, we understand the strength and flexibility required to pull those movements off. We do miss the old lumberjack aspect of the show, but it was pleasant entertainment. Our server, Jenna, was really great. The jokes and some of the parts won't be everyone's cup of tea. But comedy hits people different ways.

"Amazing acrobatics!"

We went on a Wednesday night. And was a sold out show! I thought the beginning of the show was geared to a younger generation. Maybe tweens. But as it progressed I enjoyed it more. The gymnastic skills of the performers were wonderful. It is a dinner show. The food was very good. Plenty of it. In fact almost too much. Chicken, ham, stuffing, corn, mashed potato's, roll, sweet potatos and dessert! Plus all the tea , soda or coffee you would want. Our seats were pretty high up and we could see pretty good. Fun time.

"Completely disappointing"
TripAdvisor user rating 1 out of 5
Reviewed November 19, 2017 NEW
I was really looking forward to this show especially with it being the Christmas season. I am sad to say that it was horrible. For about half an hour I thought we were just watching the pre show. Then I realized that this was it. The acrobatics were not impressive, the mime was boring and annoying, and the storyline very weak. The food was also a huge disappointment. The apple turnover dessert tasted like it was from McDonald's. Also the bartender took forever to serve us. We had to ask twice for a glass of wine. For the money we paid, this show was just terrible. I cannot believe Dolly Parton would attach her name to this disaster. We left before it was over because we couldn't take it anymore.
