Description

from Dolly Parton's Smoky Mountain Adventures
Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Adventures Dinner & Show is a riveting, high energy and romantic production that takes guests on an exciting journey back to a time that tells a tale of Dolly’s own family history. Adventures and a spectacular old-fashioned Hootenanny feast await as the mountains are filled with high-flying action, music and more!

The great traditions of the Smoky Mountain people are proud and steeped in history. Food, Faith, and Family is the fiber that is woven throughout these mountains along with rivalry and romance. Our show includes a special love story on how Avie Lee Owens and Lee Parton got together and became Dolly’s Mom and Dad. However, it was not before a bit of competition had taken place between the Partons and Owens in the Great Smoky Mountain Family Contests.

Our story is filled with music, laughter, edge-of-your-seat special effects, thrilling specialty acts, competitions, and romance– the type that brings families together. Acrobatic performers will display their abilities on aerial silks suspended three stories above the stage; perform a balletic display above the stage on suspended hoops called Lyras; and will defy gravity in and on the amazing Electro-wheel, all within the context of Parton's exciting story.

Arrive early and enjoy the spirit of thrills and fun. Inside Bass Mercantile, kids of all ages can get a makeover and become a hearty Mountaineer or a beautiful Mountain Princess! We have snacks, music and more.

Every family gathering needs a hearty meal! Dolly’s family members have brought their best dishes for Avie Lee’s Sunday Dinner!

Avie Lee’s Sunday Dinner Includes:
  • Dorothy Jo’s Homemade biscuit

  • Grandma’s Creamy Vegetable Soup

  • Avie Lee’s Fried Chicken

  • Pulled Pork, scalded & cooked over at Grandpa Jake’s

  • Cabin Taters

  • Buttery Corn on the Cob

  • Aunt Martha’s Southern Peach Pie

  • All of this with unlimited Pepsi, Tea, and Coffee

  • At Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Adventures Dinner & Show, you’ll make unforgettable memories as you cheer on The Partons or Owens in a world class dinner and show.

"Fun, energetic show"

We have been vacationing in this area 27 years and are always trying the new shows. We were pleasantly surprised at the show. The performance had a good historical story and the acrobatics was outstanding! The food was tasty and plentiful. Our opinion is the dinner show was well worth the money spent. The size and layout of the arena offered good views for all.

We have seen every other dinner show in Gatlinburg so we were excited to see a new one on our latest trip. I loved that they served the same soup as Dixie Stampede as it's one of my favs. The rest of the food was good and the performers were great. It is difficult to clap for their performances while eating.

If you have already seen DP's Dixie Stampede, then you will be sorely disappointed with this dinner show. First, the seating is very, very tight for us well-fed Americans. It was elbow-rubbing at the trough. Our server was so distracted that she never offered a beverage and I had to lunge out into the aisle to grab a manager to get our drinks. The show was very confusing and I now know nothing more about DP's life than before. They are trying to be a hillbilly Cirque du soleil and it doesn't work. If you like swimming dogs and kilted audience members tossing stuffed skunks into a pail than this is the show for you.

"Good but not great"

First of all the food was very good. Show lasts 90 minutes. At 5:45 they start trying to seat everyone and take your picture as the show starts at 6pm. Helpful staff instructing where your section is. Our server Mackie was very friendly and attentive. Couple of items needed approved upon, seating..they have you so scrunched together it is hard getting your food/drink to your mouth without elbowing your neighbor. I know they want to pack in as much as they can $$$, but it would be nice to be comfortable. 2nd, there is a lot going on and while you eat you miss a lot, but that's the way the show is designed. All in all its good but not worth repeating.

First time seeing this show. Entertainment was super. It was non- stop action. The food was great, and our server, McKenzie, was top notch. She did a fantastic job of getting us served in a timely matter. Drinks refilled promptly. We do a lot of shows while in Pigeon Forge each year, and this is one of the best. WE WILL DEFINITELY GO BACK!!
