"Didn't have our reservation"
February, 2015
We arrived early, thank goodness. They didn't have our reservation so we got downgraded on our cabin. We had to take a smaller one but that was ok. The manager, Charlie, was a little rude to us a check in saying we should have called to verify our reservation. He said this happens to everyone that uses this site. On check out we didn't know how to check out Bc the office was closed so we had to call him again. He was rude on the phone and hung up on my while I was speaking. We won't be staying with them in the future.

Tip: Be prepared to figure things out on your own and don't ask questions Bc it completely inconveniences the manager.

"Relax and Enjoy"

I love the heights and depths of the mountains. The cabins are a perfect getaway. Great time with family and friends on each visit. I would recommend a stroll along the main strip in Gatlinburg. Meet some locals or bump into an old friend. The atmosphere is nice. Food City, the local grocery store, has nicely prepared meats for easy grilling. I enjoy the wind down that Gatlinburg provides.

"RCI members: avoid like ebola"

We rented a Condo with RCI points, and stayed in what the staff (the woman, forgot her name) said was the "only" unit on the property one could use with RCI points. Sadly, we were on the first floor--normally this wouldn't be an issue, but it proved to be horrid in this case. The condo is relatively new, but the poorly insulated for sound. The couple staying above us apparently ran a herd of antelope across their 2nd floor condo from 8am to 10am and then from 9pm to 11pm each day (well, two pre-teen children that sounded like antelope). Every step, every squeal, chair move, everything they did echoed in our condo and they were night owls (they sounded like night-pterodactyls wearing wooden shoes). The ability to sleep should never be governed by how considerate the people above you might be. We tried to talk to the people above us, but they were jerks and the noise became more deliberate each night. Now, that is going to happen, some people are just that way. On Monday, we asked the woman at the desk in the help center what could be done--a different room, anything. She couldn't be bothered, and told us to call the property manager. She was kind enough to admit that they get complaints about noise all the time from first floor occupants. The noise continued for the rest of our stay. It was VERY loud and jarring, especially for my 71 year old mother. The condo was fairly clean, but the main bathtub off the second bedroom had a ring around it when we checked in (it was never cleaned), and the shower in the master had mold and mildew along the grout lines. It's too bad. The setting is spectacular, the cabins looked incredible, but if you're using RCI points to book...do yourself a favor and find another place--this is my worst timeshare experience in 8 years and I've stayed in a lot of places. Also note, that this establishment will charge you an extra $50 dollars once you get there to book the room for less than a week, on top of the booking fee and the points. There are far better places to stay if you're using RCI points. If you still want to stay there anyway, avoid the first floor of the condos, just pay to stay in a cabin or on the second floor (that is, conveniently, where all the rave reviews come from)--it's a better deal that way. The cost in timeshare points is absolutely not worth it. Don't expect any help from the front desk if you're with RCI, the lovely woman made it quite clear that it was RCI's problem, not hers. She acted like RCI timeshare points were a huge pain for her. That maybe true, but all we did was book a room they advertised.

We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the condo and how nice it was. It was very clean. We felt spoiled! The only drawbacks were the bed was too soft and lights can in the window at 1am. Also at 5:30 am you could hear the people above us walking around.

We love White Oaks. The cabins are deluxe from the granite countertops, to the jacuzzi tube n master bath and a pool table in the loft. And your own private hot tub. The pool is so relaxing with two waterfalls. The condos are nicely appointed and easily accommodate 6 people. Far enough away from the hustle and bustle of downtown but close enough to everything. Highly recommend.

"New cabin feel with modern amenities"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5
Reviewed September 03, 2017
This is a great place to stay. We were in unit 22, which is a townhouse unit. The exterior is designed like a lodge. It has a rustic wood look with copper colored roof. The interior screams mountains and has wood accents everywhere along with a working stone fireplace. It is very clean and looks brand new. The kitchen sports nice appliances and is designed with the modern family in mind. There is a nice porch, a Jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom and king sized bed. The beds are made of real wood and have the cabin feel. The pool is something that they may have at Disney World. There are rock water falls and dinosaur looking fossils all over. If you just want to stay at the resort, they have zip lines on property along with the other amenities. Definitely would recommend this property! Give it Five Stars *****
