"Didn't have our reservation"
Reviewed February, 2015
We arrived early, thank goodness. They didn't have our reservation so we got downgraded on our cabin. We had to take a smaller one but that was ok. The manager, Charlie, was a little rude to us a check in saying we should have called to verify our reservation. He said this happens to everyone that uses this site. On check out we didn't know how to check out Bc the office was closed so we had to call him again. He was rude on the phone and hung up on my while I was speaking. We won't be staying with them in the future.
Tip: Be prepared to figure things out on your own and don't ask questions Bc it completely inconveniences the manager.

White oak resort and lodge, Gatlinburg, TN PROS: Very spacious rooms… very good furniture, actually better than very good, leather couch and love seat, extremely nice fireplace that has electronically controlled valve so just flip a switch to turn on or off, TVs while way to small in my opinion, are excellent quality flat screens with good picture and good cable reception and a lot of channel choices. Kitchen supplies are more than adequate. Have full size washer and dryer. Décor is nice and very appropriate for area. Bathroom lighting very good. Overall the whole unit, furnishings and décor are very clean and in excellent condition! Beds are very comfortable. Has what appears to be composite wood flooring. GREAT! CONS: Small screen TV…DVD player with no pause, ff rewind capability…commode in master bathroom right up against wall, could have been more centered…shower mounted way to high, only someone 6 feet or more tall can remove the flexible shower head, hose very inflexible when trying to maneuver shower, no shower curtain on master bedroom shower, not entirely needed because shower is so spacious but would still help from splashing water on floor outside shower… very nice barstools not tall enough to sit comfortably at kitchen counter, not even if you are 6 feet tall which I am. No vacuum cleaner provided to clean carpet. The cons are far outweighed by the pros and would not keep us from returning.

We made reservations online two months in advance to book a two bedroom villa for MLK weekend. The unit was great. It has all the amenities and comforts you could wish for. It is far enough away from Gatlinburg that you can get away from the traffic and noise. It is very peaceful and quiet. The unit has a pool table, hot tub and a jacuzzi in the master bath. The only complaint I agree with from previous reviews is that the televisions are tiny. It is not a major deal for us but it is strange they would be so small both in the living room and the bedrooms. The fire place was great since it was very chilly outside. We did have an issue with ladybugs in one section of the cabin. I think they must have entered through a crease and were trying to avoid the freezing temperatures. The unit was otherwise spotless. They include a washer and dryer as well. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable.

Just spent a week staying at a cabin here. We had a 1 bedroom and had plenty of room for our family. The decor was perfect for a mountain cabin, rustic but new. We loved the beautiful king size bed. The cabin was neat, clean and well-stocked! We were outside the busyness of Gatlinburg traffic but wasn't too long of a drive when we wanted to go ski, skate or eat. Super easy check in and check out procedures.

If you are suppose to check in for a stay at White Oak Lodge on Black Friday; do not, I repeat do not get off I-40 at exit 407. The lodge is 10 miles on the other side of Gatlinburg. We spent 2 1/2 hours getting through shopping traffic. Go to exit 440 instead and take 321. No traffic and 15-20 minutes to lodge. Once settled in; by all means, visit all three cities at night to see the Christmas lights and scenes throughout the area. The weather was warm in the 60's, but rained Monday through Wednesday. Turned cold Thursday and we left for Michigan Friday morning. While there, we took in three shows. Monday we visited the "Murder Mystery Theater" with dinner. We saw the "Killbillies". It's a cute show for all the family to see. The price was right. Tuesday afternoon, we went to the "Country Tonite Theater". The entertainment was excellent. The show is faith, family and country based. The music was great and the price was a good bargain. Wednesday, we were entertained at the "Smoky Mountain Opry". It was a lot of show for the money. The show had everything; music, dance, band, comedy, magic and animals. Music was a bite loud; but still a great show. Ate at "The Old Mill". The meal was outstanding. We saw three black bears on our way to Cherokee, N.C. going over the Smoky. I would rate this trip a 91/2 out of 10; even with the traffic on Friday.
