"the Resort at Governors Crossing"

Reserve Direct was very helpful in helping me find a condo for my family. They found just what we were looking for, within our budget. The Resort at Governors Crossing is a very family friendly condo. Multiple pools and all rooms are easily accessible. It is conveniently located near Dollywood and the outlet mall.
Tip: conveniently located near Dollywood and the outlet mall, very family friendly

"So great!!!"
July, 2016 NEW
Can't say enough good about Governor's Crossing! It all started at the front desk with the lovely reservation staff. She knew EVERYTHING there was to know about the surrounding businesses and restaurants, was so helpful in selecting the room that would best suit our family, and (unlike most customer service workers) told us what days she would be working if we needed to contact her regarding anything. We (6 in all) had the 2Bd/2Bath condo. Bedrooms and bathrooms were clean. Kitchen clean and stocked with bare essentials. For as many children as were present our hall was very quite during the evening...we never heard our neighbors! If I had to give one negative, it would to suggest they have a "checkout list" to ensure we as guest are not charged a clean-up fee for inadvertently leaving something undone. My kids and niece could not get enough of the indoor and outdoor pool. Movies at the pool on Tues and Sat was a nice feature for me since I'm not a swimmer but had to be down there with the kids. Winery is in the next parking lot, and multiple restaurants within walking distance. Front desk even informed us of all the restaurants in the area that deliver to the condo. Only 2-3 miles from Dollywood. Perfect!
Tip: Kitchen stocked with bare essentials, i.e. silverware, glasses (no cups), plates, bowels , a few cooking utensils. If you are a large group and need big pots, muffing pans, multiple serving utensils, etc. bring your own!

"Loved every minute, hated to leave this place!!!"
February, 2016
Had a two bedroom condo, and I was so impressed. Each room had its own bathroom, we were located close to the indoor and outdoor pool so that was also a plus. The rooms were extremely clean and well maintained, we hated leaving them they were so nice. The hallways were quiet, the outdoor noise during the day was minimal, if any. Its also close to books a million, which my kids absolutely love, vanity fair outlet, rack room shoes and I believe there is a shoe carnival as well as Fuddruckers and a buffalo wild wings and less than a half mile (guesstimate) from Walmart, chick-fil-a, steak and shake and baskin robbins. I will definitely stay here again. The staff at the check in desk were extremely nice and helpful. They even called about 30 minutes after we got to the room to make sure the room was okay and that we had everything we needed, left the number to call them back if we had any problems whatsoever!!!! Talk about customer service!!!! I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this place!!!
Tip: Be prepared to love it!!!!!!!

"Overall Okay but many notable problems"
March, 2015
Me and my family booked 3 separate rooms, one two-bedroom condo, one one-bedroom condo, and one queen sleeper studio. Guest Services was great with us and our room was spacious and very nice overall, especially for the price we paid. The trouble we had was in getting the DVD player to work with the TV,after fighting with it for an hour it turns out they had given us the wrong remote. They also had printed information telling us that there were DVD rentals available in the game rooms and after walking the whole hotel, we questioned the front desk and found out that that was no longer the case. Also, there were only a couple luggage carts available on the whole property and they were impossible to get ahold of, they were never returned and both, checking in and out, we had to make several long trips to the car and back. Additionally the room we were given was a single locked door that opened to two more locked doors (A and B), B was not part of our party so every time someone knocked on the outer we didnt know if it was for us or them and when you stepped out to answer you would get locked out of the inner if you didnt have your key on you, very frustrating. Lastly, our room was impossible to cool to a comfortable temperature. The halls were kept hot at 74 degrees and even with our thermostat set to 68(the lowest it would go) it never cooled and we were sweating all night. My father in law had a horrible experience in his room, his door would not close correctly and had to be forcefully opened creating a loud screech every time. It took the maintenance people over a day to get it fixed after several attempts to fix it but just making it worse. He also had numerous stinkbugs crawling about his room throughout the visit. The elevators at the property are also fidgety, we got stuck in one for several minutes and the alarm went off before it started up again, scared everyone in it real good. For the most part the hotel staff was friendly but the whole hotel just has a lot of small problems that lead to one overall uncomfortable and stressful situation.

"Excellent Staff - Greg and ladies in offices"

The rooms were extremely clean. The Staff was very helpful and were there to assist. Greg in the Office was the best when we booked and then again when we arrived. He remembered us from booking and assisted when one party arrived before the other. He was quick, friendly and had a smile to share. The pool areas were great and we would have had a great vacation if we had just stayed at the hotel. Visiting Dollywood, and Gatlingburg was just icing on the cake.

"Great Resort"

We spent four nights at Resort. Check-in was mostly quick and easy. Their was only one person assisting at the counter, and he had to stop at least four times to answer the telephone during my transaction. The hotel was clean and well-equipped. Our suite was roomy and comfortable. The beds were great; the sofa slept more comfortably as a couch than a pullout; the bathroom was large and had a Jacuzzi jet tub, but we didn't use that function. Both the indoor and outdoor swim complexes were great for adults and kids. My son loved the slides and the pool fixtures. Both areas also had pool attendants, but they were hit or miss with their surveillance of the area. There was a sauna and workout area available, and also some arcade style games on the property. The housekeeping staff was suitable for what we required, which wasn't much - just fresh towels and paper products. The only downside for me was that we were unable to access wi-fi during our entire 4 days. After several complaints, I just finally gave up on the hope of this working, but this was a complete bummer for us, and the only thing that kept me from giving Resort at Governor's Crossing a five star review. Check-out was quick and easy.

"Very Poor Experience"

Reviewed August 22, 2016 NEW
We booked in on Tuesday and departed Sunday morning. We got to our room and unpacked on the 5th floor. After getting settled in we tried to get online and the wifi is not working. I go down to the desk and am told due to a lightning strike a couple weeks ago the 5th floor does not work. When I questioned further supposedly the people fixing it wanted an arm and a leg and the room owners had to agree on a price. Anyway, we had to pack up and move to another room just one floor lower and it worked fine. However, the 5th floor had a mountain view and the new room had a view of a blue building. Asked for a discount and said none to offer. We should have been told when checking in or when booking and asked if we needed it. The rug is pretty worn and we had 2 grandkids 1 & 3 playing on the floor. When worn it just looked dirty. Saturday late afternoon my wife goes into the bathroom to get ready for dinner and there is water all over the floor coming from the ceiling. Called front desk and they did have a maintenance guy come right up. We had already wiped up the floor but ceiling was still dripping. He said the room above sprung a leak but had it fixed. They had "Hoped" it would not come down to our room. We should have been notified to be careful as my wife unknowingly could have slipped and broke her neck. Then on Saturday night at 11PM I go into the bathroom and slip and darn near broke my neck in water again. I called down and sure enough same room another leak and told they were there working on it. Again nobody said a peep. We tried to go to sleep that night and kids were very loud running around in the same room. We called the desk then they called back and said it was maintenance!!!! So maintenance department must be a bunch of young kids. Then when we were packing to leave I went back to get one of the 10 carts they had downstairs. None were there. I waited for a half hour and none showed up. Complained twice about it and another customer told me she had seen workers using them the day before. I was told if I wanted one I could go to another building and steal one. I did go over there and none there either. I finally just went and grabbed as much as I could and took to the car myself. Once I had the heavy stuff a cart showed up. It was obvious people got them and kept them in their rooms till time to leave. We had 3 adults and 2 kids. When I was asked about my stay and I told them about all they said was sorry and never offered a refund of any kind and by that time I was ready to split and did not ask for one. Needless to say this place sucks and would never stay there again. I am going to check with my credit card company about disputing the full charge.

We stayed here when it was brand new several years ago & loved it. We recently returned and weren't as impressed as we were the first time. Customer service was great & all of the staff was extremely nice and helpful. The room had lots of space, but just wasn't as luxurious as you would expect from a resort. Unfortunately our bed was very uncomfortable & made it hard to sleep.
