Description

from Oak Tree Lodge
Check-In: 3:00pm Check-Out: 12:00pm
Oak Tree Lodge is your choice for hotel lodging in the Pigeon Forge area with its proximity to fine restaurants, great attractions, shows and being across the street from Tanger Outlet mall doesn't hurt either. But there is more to a great hotel than location, and at Oak Tree Lodge you’ll find all the best amenities like an indoor pool and outdoor pool with slide, an on site convention center, free deluxe continental breakfast and warm friendly hospitality from our staff.

Our hotel setting among horse pastures and the rolling hills of the Smoky Mountains truly sets us apart from all the run of the mill main street hotels. You actually look out your balcony and can see a mare and her foal running in the adjacent pasture.

Oak Tree Lodge is the perfect place for your next family vacation, family reunion, or corporate retreat. Guests can easily walk to the outlet shopping, mini golf at Ripley's or fine restaurants or take the trolley from our front to Dollywood or the Great Smoky Mountains. Fun and excitement are just steps away, so park the car and enjoy!

We offer large rooms with refrigerator and microwave, and some suites have fireplaces and Jacuzzis for that extra special getaway. At Oak Tree lodge you’ll see we're more about a place to stay than a place to spend the night. We want to be your choice for Smoky Mountain lodging.

"Family friendly lodging!"
June, 2016
This was our first trip to Pigeon Forge and the Oak Tree Lodge helped us to have a wonderful visit! The hotel staff were very friendly upon our arrival and even had free cookies available upon check-in. The rooms were very nice, we enjoyed sitting out on the little balcony. The beds were comfortable and it was nice to have a fridge and microwave. The continental breakfast was very tasty--my 5 year old loved the Belgian waffles! There were two pools available. The outdoor pool had more activities, but the indoor pool was quieter. Also loved the free arcade games!! There was one incident of noisy neighbors, but the front desk was quick to correct the situation. The wifi wasn't the best, but there was so much to keep our family entertained that we didn't miss it. The hotel might not have all the modern conveniences, but it was perfect for our little family. We will definitely visit again!
Tip: Call the hotel to check their deals against any online deals. A couple of our online deals were better, but then some of the hotel's specials were better than online.

Hotel was average. Workers were friendly. Pool is small and it was overcrowded when we stayed.
Tip: Travel here when it's less crowded to enjoy pool.

"Mommy and daughter getaway"
October, 2015
I took my daughter to Pigeon Forge for a short getaway after I finished my summer classes. The lodge was a great choice to stay! My daughter loved our Jacuzzi tub, went nuts over the pool and small water park area, and the breakfast selection was pretty great as well. The lodge was very nice and clean and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay as well. We went to Dollywood while we were on vacation and the lodge is just a short distance from both the theme park and water-park. There is shopping within walking distance as well as great places to eat! Only issue was that the wi-fi wasn't the greatest we never could get ours to connect and my daughter loves playing games on her ipad before bed.
Tip: They give great coupons for local attractions besides that it's a great place to stay period!

"Great Experience!"
October, 2015
we were in town for conference in Gatlinburg and decided to stay another night in Pigeon Forge- tried to find a place to stay almost everything was booked. Went online and found this site- got great place to stay, reasonable rate, and lots of extras (tickets to many attractions) which was a plus!! Our kids loved, loved the outdoor pool!! Fun water sprayers, slides, and not too deep for a non-swimmer- so they could enjoy! Right across from the Tanger Outlets so that was a plus in our daughter's eyes! the room was great, beds, pillows, shower, etc.. all were fine! Great patio also! and breakfast was good- lots of variety! Hostess very nice! We definitely will book again! lisab
Tip: Great Pool! Great Rooms! Great staff! Very Convient- across from Tanger!

"Weekend Getaway"
October, 2015
Our family surely enjoyed our stay at Oak Tree Lodge. We had fun at the indoor and outdoor pools. The room was very clean and nice. I liked the rustic look. The breakfast was really good, and there was a good variety of foods. The only complaint my teenagers had was that the wi-fi did not reach to our room, 219, but it did not bother me! I especially liked it that we were just across the road from the Tanger mall. And they gave us some great coupons when we arrived. It was all-in-all a great stay. Anita D.
Tip: The staff were very helpful and we were given some really great coupons!

"Grandsons loved it!"
February, 2015
We try to find a fun place but not to expensive when we have our 2 grandsons aged 10 and 8 for a week during the summer. Oak Tree Lodge was perfect! The pool area is a blast! Folks were friendly and the lodge employees were as well. Our room was updated and comfy and overlooked the field and horses next door The boys loved it and being on the balcony!
Tip: If you want to go to the complimentary breakfast go early!

The location of the lodge was great, it was located in walking distance to the Tanger outlet mall, restaurants, and to other shopping places. The room was fantastic, it had its own balcony, also had a great breakfast buffet. We had also enjoyed the indoor pool and all staff were very friendly and made us feel at home.

"Standing room only for breakfast"

Our room had "log" style furniture. It was clean and a little dated. The hotel is like the old travel lodges. The travel lodge's don't have large lobby areas, so the space dedicated to the breakfast area was small. It had one table, bar type seating along a back wall and one or two tables set up in an out side patio. I had to wait in long lines both days for everything (even juice and coffee). Once I finally got my breakfast there was no place to sit. We asked the office why they didn't have any seating for the breakfast area and they said, "we are trying to build an out door patio with a ceiling. But we are waiting for the busy season to get over." There's an outdoor water play area great for small kids and a indoor pool area for older kids. There's also an area for free video play near the ice machine. It's a kid friendly hotel. Next door is an open field with a couple horses and a zip-line ride goes right over top the horse pasture. Beautiful view and entertaining all at the same time. Amenities: Indoor pool, outdoor water play area, video games, TV, microwave, and mini fridge. No washing facility. You can go to the hotel next door to wash clothes. It's on the other side of the horse pasture. A short walk away.

We picked this hotel for it's location and price. We wanted to spend the weekend shopping across the street at the Tanger Outlet mall in which we did. Overall, the hotel served our purpose. The staff were friendly for the most part, the room and grounds were clean. There were a couple of things that will make us reconsider the type of room or this hotel when we plan another trip to this area. The room with our bed was separate from the room with the "window unit" air conditioner so it wasn't very efficient for keeping us cool on a hot August night. Another thing is, when we went to use the Jacuzzi, it wouldn't come on. After a phone call to the front desk, we were told that if we push the GFCI button on the outlet outside the room, it would probably work, which it did. This concerns me as I have never stayed somewhere that had a problem with a tripping electrical outlet and the staff knew this happened (apparently quite frequently). We also had an issue with our commode. When I went to the front desk, I told the person there and she went and got me a plunger to take to the room. I just thought this was odd, maybe I was expecting some one from maintenance to deal with it, but I never had this situation happen to me at a hotel before either. The free breakfast was adequate and the staff in there were attentive and friendly. I think we would have had a better time had our grandchildren been present to where they could have used the pools and amenities that were available for the kids. Overall, it wasn't a bad stay and we would consider this hotel again based on availability and price, but it was nothing special.

"3 night stay in Gatlinburg area"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5
Reviewed August 10, 2016 NEW
My wife and I took a quick 3 night vacation to the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area. We purchased a timeshare vacation from Bass Pro for $99. This provided us 2 nights accommodations and a $125 in Bass Pro gift cards. We had to attend a timeshare presentation, but it was not bad at all. We added one extra night to the two nights they gave us. Hotel: Oak Tree Lodge; This is an older motel, but I must say it is very nice. These people take pride in their property. The check-in people were very kind and helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable. If you have small children, they would love the pool with waterslide. There are a few free video games near the ice machine. The free hot breakfast is very tasty. Next door to the hotel was a horse riding stable and zip line course. It was nice to sit on our balcony and watch the horses graze on the beautiful green pasture next to the hotel. Fishing: Our main activity in the Smoky was to go fly fishing. My wife and I had all the gear...rods, vest, waders, boots, etc. We got a copy of Don Kirks book, Fly Fishing the Smoky Mountains. It was very helpful. The odd thing was that in order to get to the beautiful mountain streams, you had to go through Gatlinburg. Gatlinburg in July is more crowded than New York City. I must say though, the traffic did move. We enjoyed looking at all the attractions downtown. It all seems a bit silly....thousands of people crowded in a tiny little area, buying folksy trinkets made in China, but to each his own. People were having fun. Once we made it through town we headed for our mountain destinations: Newfoundland Gap Road: This is the main road that connects North Carolina to Tennessee. This is a must do. The road is steep and curvy at times, but it is a beautiful drive. Clingmans Dome is at the top of the peak on this trip. It is a great place to get relief form the hot July heat. The hike to the observatory is a bit tiring and about a half mile long. But if you are rested, dressed for it, and ready to hike, it is the thing to do. We fished streams all along this route. I will not get into fishing reviews, but would recommend the book Fly Fishing the Smoky Mountains if you want to know where to fish. We drove all the way to the town of Cherokee which was is in sort of a sad state of existence. Roaring Fork Auto Nature trail: This is a nice little drive right outside of Gatlinburg. At times this was a bit crowded but it is a nice little drive. The last time we visited the area we went to Cades Cove. Cades Cove was simply overrun with people. Roaring Fork Auto Nature Trail is not near as crowded, there are some pretty homesteads to visit, and there are some neat places to fish. Mettcalf Bottoms: This is on Little River Road on the way to Townsend. If you have children this is a great place to swim in the river. It is about 3 miles east of Gatlinburg. The Y: This is a great swimming hole in the summer. It would be a neat place to fish in the noncrowded months. It is about 2 miles west of Townsend on Little River Road. This is where a creek meets a small river. It has a nice beach and great access to the water and the river. You can't miss this place if you drive little river road. There is a large parking lot that can handle about 100 cars. We didn't do any shows or spend any money on attractions. We had nice food at tourist restaurants like Bubba Gumps, Johnny Rockets, etc.. There always seemed to be something going on in downtown Gatlinburg. Street dancers, bluegrass bands, etc.. The main thing is that everyone seemed to be in vacation mode and was having a very good time. There is even a little stream you could fish in downtown Gatlinburg along River Road. The trip was fun and unique.

Kids love the pools and I highly recommend this place. Prices are good and rooms were very clean. We will definitely use this place again. The breakfast is pretty good as well. We had a choice between a hot or cold breakfast. I liked the outside porches as well. And the location is great. Right across the road from the outlets
