"Small and old"
August, 2016
The room was said to sleep 5 adults. However, there were only two queen sized beds with only room enough to block the door into the room with a roll away bed. You actually had to fold the extra bed up to get out of the room. Everything was extremely old, but clean. The exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work, it only heated the air. The outlets in the entire room were all wore out where the plugs fell out of them.

"Good Atmosphere"
August, 2016
My family of two kids 5 and 4, wife and I loved the Hotel. Everywhere in town was convenient, and the staff was friendly and helpful. At night it was peaceful and during the day it was relaxing. The pools both in and out were clean and great for the age of my kids. I would not only stay here again I will tell all my friends to stay here.
Tip: May not be fully up to date but worth every dime

Nice, clean room. Great price and great staff. This room may not have all the modern updates but it is clean and spacious. Can't beat the price. The indoor pool is nice also. The continental breakfast was nice but small with only have donuts and pastries.

Upon arrival which was before noon, we were allowed to check in since our room was ready. That was so nice as we had been on the road since 1:30 a.m. As usual the front desk folks were as nice as they could be. Our 1st floor room turned out to be a handicap accessible room. What that meant was the large restroom had a sink no vanity or anywhere to put your toiletries. Since there were no more rooms available, they supplied a small table to use. Again how we appreciated that. The room was comfortable and had pretty good sound insulation until the kids upstairs ran around or were on the balcony playing. So, I would suggest requesting a 3rd floor room to help in that circumstance. The vending area was just across the internal courtyard extremely convenient. The breakfast consisted of toast, bagels, frozen waffles, 3 kings of cereal, milk, orange juice, and Krispy Kreme donuts. The location was great for us, easy access to get to the Park and the other attractions there in Pigeon Forge. My suggestion for improvement would be: thicker larger bath towels and better bed pillows. Overall, we will stay there again and I would recommend the motel to my friends.

Weekend Pigeon Forge about three or four times a year and have stayed at several different places. We have stayed at the Norma Dan a few times before. Have always had a wonderful stay. The room was very clean. The people were unbelievably friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone. The cost is wonderful and the service is second to none.

"Friendliest Motel -- On my repeat visit list"

From initial reservation to check out, this is the friendliest motel I have ever stayed at. Front desk, reservation agent, and maids were all top notch and super friendly. Great Christmas village display in lobby. I carry a UV light to inspect rooms and our was clean! Coffee and breakfast were good. Only motel in TN during our trip that had a heater in the bathroom. Elevator to get to upper floors -- important to this old man. Motel is convenient to food and sights. Short scenic drive to Gatlinburg. Price was too cheap. I wold have paid more and been happy to.

"Amazing Hospitality"

We were welcomed and treated with the friendliest most sincere kindness. We were staying @ the Brookside Resort in Gatlinburg during the horrible fire and were evacuated. We were due to checkout the morning after the evacuations, as we were only there for a few days visiting from Maryland. The first three nights we stayed in three different local chain hotels and not one of the three showed compassion towards us as being displaced tourist, who had no idea if all our things were still intact up in Gatlinburg or if they had burned. The fourth night while getting word that it may take a few more days of staying put, since we had learned that Brookside didn't burn and we would eventually be able to return for our belongings. We were yet again faced with looking for a room to wait things out. I called Norma Dan Motel and was greeted with utmost kindness and compassion from Donette :-) While my boyfriend was across the street from them @ another chain hotel being told that since it was Friday the rate was even higher :-( When he came out I told him that I had just talked to Donette and she said to come stay with them for as long as needed <3 Donette was so super sweet and kind, that she made my heart melt. The next morning we got news that we would be allowed back into Gatlinburg instead of needing to wait out the weekend. When we were checking out Donette said to us that she would hold our room open if for some reason we weren't able to get our thing and head home to Maryland. She also gave me her personal cell # and told me to please call her to let her know one way or the other that we were safe and on our way home. Thank God that we were able to get not only all our things but also many Christmas gifts that we had bought and were in our room. We felt so very blessed, because when we got to Brookside there was so much complete loss all around there and other then smoke damage to our things we got everything (except my two new Serta pillows) that in our hast to get our stuff and head home we forgot and left them on the bed. I have contacted Brookside several times and even stated that we would pay for the shipping if they would send our pillows :-( No one has ever returned our call or message. :-( I will say from this experience and we LOVE GATLINBURG and PIEGON FORGE we go there @ least 2 time every year! We will from now on STAY @ NORMA DAN HOTEL <3 Plus we were very surprised when we received a Christmas card this week fro Donette <3 I would like to wish her a very Merry Christmas and Blessed New Year! Oh and I guess with all of my heartfelt appreciation, I forgot to say: The hotel was beautifully kept, very clean and close to a lot of attractions <3 Thank you again Donette God Bless you and your family
