"Great Value, Clean & Friendly!"
Reviewed March, 2016
Finally getting around to posting a review for this great little family-owned gem in Pigeon Forge, TN.

For sleeping accommodations, I tend to either go “budget” (and CLEAN – no cucarachas, gracias), or “high roller” (like a nice cabin up in the hills), but in-between those two seems like a waste of money to me.
Norma Dan Motel is a very good value and you would not be disappointed with this place considering the price, especially if you’re not interested in burning up most of your vacay funds on a clean bed and shower for a few nights! Located near the southern end of the 321 strip and maybe 7min north of the traffic nightmare that IS Gatlinburg (not to mention, a whole lot less expensive), this place is easy to get in and out of and makes for a quick drive to Smoky Mountains National Park. Stayed over a long weekend Nov 2015 with our 2yo son, they even provided a crib for us to use at no extra charge. Staff here is very friendly and welcoming, as you would expect in this part of the country. Everything appeared VERY clean and in order; no real complaints with regard to our room or the appointments, which included micro and mini-fridge (came in very handy for junior!).

I’ll add just one comment about the faucets, to echo an earlier reviewer’s observations – I agree, those nasty old 80’s style pull/push faucet handles are a real pain; however, I am not unmindful of the basic economic fact that a $30 replacement faucet quickly becomes a few thousand dollars for an 85 room facility if you reno all the bathrooms, so that probably tempers my irritation at the outdated fixtures a bit. Indoor pool was warm and enjoyable, despite being located in a separate building with no covered walkway (hint, hint). They also have what you would typically see for a complimentary breakfast “bar”, nothing fancy and it was adequate for us as a quick starter before heading out – for the price, we are not expecting a French chef on site making Crepe Suzettes for the hungry masses :-) .

All in all, very easy on the budget and probably gets you close to your target destination(s).

Also, as an aside, had very good meals at Mellow Mushroom, Alamo Steakhouse, and Bennett's Pit Bar-B-Que (although quality of service was mixed); Pigeon Forge is NO place to start your new diet, son!

"great place"
Reviewed November, 2015
I stayed here with my 12 year old daughter and it was great. I ask for a room overlooking outside pool and got it without problems. The staff was friendlier than other big name places we have stayed. Pool was clean just like the other parts of the motel. This was a home away from home. If you like to feel like you are more than a guest this is where you need to go.
Tip: get ready to smile and meet lots of friendly people

I had a wonderful time I took a foster child that was in my care at the time and watching her face and expressions and hearing her comments was a well time spent and something she will never forget I hope the rest of her life. That is the joy of being a foster parent is sharing all of life pleasure thanks for the memory

"Norma Dan Motel"
Reviewed October, 2015
We recently stayed at the Norma Dan motel on a recent trip to Pigeon Forge. We made the reservation through the Reserve Pigeon Forge website and were very pleased with the accomodations. We had a balcony off our room which was lovely to enjoy the beautiful late September weather. Although the hotel was older, the room was very clean, the staff was extremely pleasant and it was very conveniently located directly across from the Dixie Stampede. The rate was extremely affordable and I would definitely stay here again. It's within walking distance of restaurants (including Krispy Kreme). I would also not hesitate to recommend it to friends. Additionally, although we did not have occasion to use them they also have two pools and hot tubs, inside and out.
Tip: Two pools and hot tubs, easy access to restaurants

"Christmas vacation 2014"
Reviewed January, 2015
We visited Gatlinburg the weekend after Christmas and had a great time. The motel was an older motel, but had all the amenities we needed and the staff was really helpful. The only downside was that we had to walk outside to get to the indoor pool and the weather was cold.
Tip: Comedy Barn is a must-see show.....my 9 yr old still raves over it!

My wife and I are retired and able to travel often. We always research the best and most economical places to stay. Norma Dan Motel, actually a very nice HOTEL more than met our expectations. Many positive reasons to stay here included: super clean rooms, clean outdoor and indoor pools, hot tubs, friendly helpful staff, great location for all happenings in Pigeon Forge/ Gatlinburg and nice breakfast. Our 5 nights cost 242$ with my veteran's discount. We will return!

This is definitely the best deal in Pigeon Forge! Located right across from the Dixie Stampede! We stayed for 4 nights over spring break and had a great time! The room was extremely clean! Balcony was a nice feature! The indoor pool is housed in a separate building. It is very well-kept. Breakfast was delicious and they offered several options. We truly loved this motel and would highly recommend to anyone traveling to Pigeon Forge!

This is a family owned motel right across the street from The Dixie Stampede. We stayed two nights and visited Dollywood one day and drove in to Gatlinburg the other day. The place is older, but it was just what we needed. It was clean and great for our large family. The rooms had two queen beds and plenty of room for both a crib and a pack n play. They have a free breakfast in the morning and you can pick up discount tickets in the office. We didn't get to use the pools but they looked very nice. They have both an indoor and outdoor pool.

This was one of the cleanest motels my wife and I have ever stayed in. We stayed for two nights, which totaled $98. For two nights!! We had our reservations because it was so cheap but we were pleasantly surprised. They even provide breakfast which was great. The sheets, bathroom, linens, etc. were spotless. They have 2 pools and 2 Jacuzzi's, all were fantastic. Not too many people there in April which was wonderful. We had the whole indoor pool to ourselves. We will stay at the Norma Dan anytime we go to Gatlinburg. Great deal for the price.
