This motel was very clean. The hosts were so down south friendly. Was a safe place for the kiddos to be. We were right on the main drag could wslk to many restaurants and activities. Also enjoyed the Dollywood fireworks every night from the outdoor pool. This is a place I would recommend to anyone.
Tip: It is close to everything. Attractions, grocery store, and restaurants

"Great Motel Right in the Heart of Pigeon Forge"
Reviewed June, 2016
We loved the Norma Dan. Friendly staff, great housekeepers and we were safe in a place away from home. The pool was clean and we had fun. We had a balcony and the room was very clean and nice. Thanks Norma Dan ... We will return.
Tip: Clean and friendly, family owned motel. We were right at home there.

We've never stayed at this motel before but we read the reviews all the reviews that were good seem to be true. management was extremely nice the pools were extremely clean along with the rooms ,we will be staying here from now on when we come to Gatlinburg.. great place for kids also.
Tip: Instead of it seeming like you're staying at a motel it seems like you're staying with family.

"Great Value, Clean & Friendly!"
Reviewed March, 2016
Finally getting around to posting a review for this great little family-owned gem in Pigeon Forge, TN.

For sleeping accommodations, I tend to either go “budget” (and CLEAN – no cucarachas, gracias), or “high roller” (like a nice cabin up in the hills), but in-between those two seems like a waste of money to me.
Norma Dan Motel is a very good value and you would not be disappointed with this place considering the price, especially if you’re not interested in burning up most of your vacay funds on a clean bed and shower for a few nights! Located near the southern end of the 321 strip and maybe 7min north of the traffic nightmare that IS Gatlinburg (not to mention, a whole lot less expensive), this place is easy to get in and out of and makes for a quick drive to Smoky Mountains National Park. Stayed over a long weekend Nov 2015 with our 2yo son, they even provided a crib for us to use at no extra charge. Staff here is very friendly and welcoming, as you would expect in this part of the country. Everything appeared VERY clean and in order; no real complaints with regard to our room or the appointments, which included micro and mini-fridge (came in very handy for junior!).

I’ll add just one comment about the faucets, to echo an earlier reviewer’s observations – I agree, those nasty old 80’s style pull/push faucet handles are a real pain; however, I am not unmindful of the basic economic fact that a $30 replacement faucet quickly becomes a few thousand dollars for an 85 room facility if you reno all the bathrooms, so that probably tempers my irritation at the outdated fixtures a bit. Indoor pool was warm and enjoyable, despite being located in a separate building with no covered walkway (hint, hint). They also have what you would typically see for a complimentary breakfast “bar”, nothing fancy and it was adequate for us as a quick starter before heading out – for the price, we are not expecting a French chef on site making Crepe Suzettes for the hungry masses :-) .

All in all, very easy on the budget and probably gets you close to your target destination(s).

Also, as an aside, had very good meals at Mellow Mushroom, Alamo Steakhouse, and Bennett's Pit Bar-B-Que (although quality of service was mixed); Pigeon Forge is NO place to start your new diet, son!

"great place"
Reviewed November, 2015
I stayed here with my 12 year old daughter and it was great. I ask for a room overlooking outside pool and got it without problems. The staff was friendlier than other big name places we have stayed. Pool was clean just like the other parts of the motel. This was a home away from home. If you like to feel like you are more than a guest this is where you need to go.
Tip: get ready to smile and meet lots of friendly people

I had a wonderful time I took a foster child that was in my care at the time and watching her face and expressions and hearing her comments was a well time spent and something she will never forget I hope the rest of her life. That is the joy of being a foster parent is sharing all of life pleasure thanks for the memory

"Norma Dan Motel"
Reviewed October, 2015
We recently stayed at the Norma Dan motel on a recent trip to Pigeon Forge. We made the reservation through the Reserve Pigeon Forge website and were very pleased with the accomodations. We had a balcony off our room which was lovely to enjoy the beautiful late September weather. Although the hotel was older, the room was very clean, the staff was extremely pleasant and it was very conveniently located directly across from the Dixie Stampede. The rate was extremely affordable and I would definitely stay here again. It's within walking distance of restaurants (including Krispy Kreme). I would also not hesitate to recommend it to friends. Additionally, although we did not have occasion to use them they also have two pools and hot tubs, inside and out.
Tip: Two pools and hot tubs, easy access to restaurants

We visited Gatlinburg the weekend after Christmas and had a great time. The motel was an older motel, but had all the amenities we needed and the staff was really helpful. The only downside was that we had to walk outside to get to the indoor pool and the weather was cold.
Tip: Comedy Barn is a must-see show.....my 9 yr old still raves over it!

This locally owned motel is a jewell in Pigeon Forge. Rates are more than affordable and staff is accommodating. Came down just for a couple days away and this was a great choice. Nothing fancy, but very clean and a stay that was well worth it! Look forward to staying here again.

"Just fine!"

We checked in a little early and our room was ready. The lady at the front desk was very friendly. The motel is very close to the main road and I was scared of being kept awake by traffic noise; not the case, it was very quiet. The rooms are dated but clean...I did have to clean out the bathtub before bathing my 4-year-old, due to a lot of hairs in it. :( Other than that, the only thing I would complain about is the bedding. I think the old comforters are gross. Price was great though, at $66. We enjoyed the indoor pool, convenience to Gatlinburg, and refrigerator in the room.

"Friendly and Clean"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5
Reviewed July 16, 2016 NEW

This place is priced right and very friendly and clean . Rooms could use a little updating but were very comfortable . Air conditioning was very cold , which felt great after a long day out shopping and doing the attractions . It is located on the main strip , with easy access to any of the area attractions . Dixie Stampede is directly across the street with many eateries within easy walking distance . The room had a microwave and fridge . Room came with a continental breakfast -- Doughnuts , waffles , cereal , boiled eggs , bagels , toast , yogurt , oats , orange juice , milk , and coffee . Rooms were cleaned and towels replaced promptly ever day . Inside and outside pools that stayed open until 11:00 pm . Again the only bad thing I might say is that the room needed just a little updating . Such as we had two rooms while we were here and neither room had a alarm clock in it . For the price and friendly attitude this place will be hard to beat . I would recommend this place to anyone . Go expecting clean rooms that are priced right and clean . Don't go expecting fancy chandeliers and large buffet breakfast . Overall a very good experience !!!

I found this gem from previous reviews on trip advisor. It's directly across the street from the Dixie Stampede. The rooms are clean and nice. Management is friendly and helpful. The price can't be beat. It's nothing fancy and I wish there was a better selection for the free breakfast, but it's free so I can't really complain there. This was our second stay with them and I do plan on returning.

I love the staff. They are simply the friendliest and most welcoming group ever. There is an indoor and outdoor pool. The rooms are very clean. Some with hot tubs, balconies and fireplaces. All the comforts of home. You can't beat the price. Been there several times and booking for the Christmas Parade with a room with balcony and fireplace to watch the Parade of lights. It truly starts the season off with a bang. Location, location, location!!!!!
