"Small and old"
Reviewed August, 2016 NEW
The room was said to sleep 5 adults. However, there were only two queen sized beds with only room enough to block the door into the room with a roll away bed. You actually had to fold the extra bed up to get out of the room. Everything was extremely old, but clean. The exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work, it only heated the air. The outlets in the entire room were all wore out where the plugs fell out of them.

Reviewed August, 2016 NEW
My family of two kids 5 and 4, wife and I loved the Hotel. Everywhere in town was convenient, and the staff was friendly and helpful. At night it was peaceful and during the day it was relaxing. The pools both in and out were clean and great for the age of my kids. I would not only stay here again I will tell all my friends to stay here.
Tip: May not be fully up to date but worth every dime

"Great Value, Clean & Friendly!"
Reviewed March, 2016
Finally getting around to posting a review for this great little family-owned gem in Pigeon Forge, TN.

For sleeping accommodations, I tend to either go “budget” (and CLEAN – no cucarachas, gracias), or “high roller” (like a nice cabin up in the hills), but in-between those two seems like a waste of money to me.
Norma Dan Motel is a very good value and you would not be disappointed with this place considering the price, especially if you’re not interested in burning up most of your vacay funds on a clean bed and shower for a few nights! Located near the southern end of the 321 strip and maybe 7min north of the traffic nightmare that IS Gatlinburg (not to mention, a whole lot less expensive), this place is easy to get in and out of and makes for a quick drive to Smoky Mountains National Park. Stayed over a long weekend Nov 2015 with our 2yo son, they even provided a crib for us to use at no extra charge. Staff here is very friendly and welcoming, as you would expect in this part of the country. Everything appeared VERY clean and in order; no real complaints with regard to our room or the appointments, which included micro and mini-fridge (came in very handy for junior!).

I’ll add just one comment about the faucets, to echo an earlier reviewer’s observations – I agree, those nasty old 80’s style pull/push faucet handles are a real pain; however, I am not unmindful of the basic economic fact that a $30 replacement faucet quickly becomes a few thousand dollars for an 85 room facility if you reno all the bathrooms, so that probably tempers my irritation at the outdated fixtures a bit. Indoor pool was warm and enjoyable, despite being located in a separate building with no covered walkway (hint, hint). They also have what you would typically see for a complimentary breakfast “bar”, nothing fancy and it was adequate for us as a quick starter before heading out – for the price, we are not expecting a French chef on site making Crepe Suzettes for the hungry masses :-) .

All in all, very easy on the budget and probably gets you close to your target destination(s).

Also, as an aside, had very good meals at Mellow Mushroom, Alamo Steakhouse, and Bennett's Pit Bar-B-Que (although quality of service was mixed); Pigeon Forge is NO place to start your new diet, son!

"great place"

I stayed here with my 12 year old daughter and it was great. I ask for a room overlooking outside pool and got it without problems. The staff was friendlier than other big name places we have stayed. Pool was clean just like the other parts of the motel. This was a home away from home. If you like to feel like you are more than a guest this is where you need to go.
Tip: get ready to smile and meet lots of friendly people

"Norma Dan Motel"
Reviewed October, 2015
We recently stayed at the Norma Dan motel on a recent trip to Pigeon Forge. We made the reservation through the Reserve Pigeon Forge website and were very pleased with the accomodations. We had a balcony off our room which was lovely to enjoy the beautiful late September weather. Although the hotel was older, the room was very clean, the staff was extremely pleasant and it was very conveniently located directly across from the Dixie Stampede. The rate was extremely affordable and I would definitely stay here again. It's within walking distance of restaurants (including Krispy Kreme). I would also not hesitate to recommend it to friends. Additionally, although we did not have occasion to use them they also have two pools and hot tubs, inside and out.
Tip: Two pools and hot tubs, easy access to restaurants

We visited Gatlinburg the weekend after Christmas and had a great time. The motel was an older motel, but had all the amenities we needed and the staff was really helpful. The only downside was that we had to walk outside to get to the indoor pool and the weather was cold.
Tip: Comedy Barn is a must-see show.....my 9 yr old still raves over it!

"The Cleanest Motel Ever"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5
Reviewed August 14, 2016 NEW

The first thing I inspect when I arrive at a motel/hotel is the bathroom. I was extremely happy with the cleanliness of the bathtub. Second no bug or roaches. Third the television remote was clean and you could read all the numbers on the buttons. Ok these items may seem petty, but I was extremely happy. I was disappointed that animals were not allowed, but due to the cleanliness of the motel, I understand why. Thanks Norma Dan, my family will certainly return in the near future.

This hotel may not be among the newest in town but it is among the cleanest. The staff was very friendly and you could tell they cared about doing their job the right way! Very reasonably priced, we stayed a week for what a lot of places would cost for maybe for just a couple of nights. Highly recommend to others!!

"Great family owned hotel!"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5
Reviewed August 10, 2016 NEW

I recently stayed for the first time at Norma Dan. It was an overnight trip with 3 children. I travel often and can honestly say I have never felt safer in a hotel room than I did this one. Solid heavy doors with deadbolt locks gave me a very secure feeling while traveling alone with my kids. Front desk check in was very welcoming and friendly. The room was very quiet and clean. Beds and pillows were comfy enough. Breakfast was okay. I only say okay because I eat low carb and the only thing I could eat was boiled eggs. Otherwise it would have been adequate. Offered cereal, oatmeal, waffles, yogurt, doughnuts etc etc. This is not the fanciest of places but definitely one I will return to. There is an indoor and outdoor pool but we didn't use either. Location is great for Dollywood,Splash Country or Dixie Stampede visits.
