I was placed at the Glenstone Lodge for a free trip. However I was supposed to be at the Holiday Inn Club resorts right down the road. Big disappointment. They were over booked so they put us at the Glenstone. Don't let this happen to you!! I was not impressed at all. Very ran down and rooms looked like they went through a renovation but still old atmosphere. Luckily my kids were not with me. There was a chlorine smell throughout the lobby from the pool. I am used to very clean and modern hotels and this was not my cup of tea! Luckily we were not in the room very much!
Stayed at this place for the first time last month. I was pleasantly surprised and pleased at the room size and renovation that took place inside this room. I was on the second floor facing the wood/pinic area in the second building. The reception area was very nice and the room was very quiet. The room has a refrig and several nice small tables to spread out if you needed it. I will return to this accommodation upon my visit to Gatlinburg area.
My wife booked our vacation with Glenstone Lodge. She got a good deal with a Ripley's package. She had already booked everything when I decided to read reviews of the lodge. I was a little hesitant to stay there. Now, I am glad we did. We have not had a problem the whole week we've been here! The whole property is clean. Most reviews stated that it was dirty, run down building. The building is definitely older but has been well renovated and maintained. The indoor pool is by far the best we have used. The waterfall is a pleasant touch. Several reviews stated that the WiFi is very poor. We brought 2 laptops, an Xbox, and 2 cell phones. We even watched Netflix and never did we have any issues. They put us in a creekside room. You can sit outside and listen to the water flowing in the creek and is very relaxing. Will definitely stay here again! Thank you Glenstone Lodge!
I stayed at this lodge 30 years ago so I wasn't sure what it would be like now. I could tell there had been remodeling done when I walked in the lobby. The room was clean, the internet worked in the room, and the beds were comfortable. Our room was on the first floor poolside, but there was no noise after the pool closed from the waterfall. It was turned off at night. My only complaint was the bathroom door didn't completely close. There was a 1-2" gap. It was a 5 to 10 minute walk to the main drag. I wasn't expecting a four star hotel, and was looking for a nice indoor pool which is what we got. If you can get a good rate this hotel is satisfactory.
