"Amazing Vacation Amazing Place!"
June, 2016
This was our second stay at Glenstone Lodge and I must say they are very consistent. The room was clean and everything worked as it should, wifi was nice and didn't drop out or lag. It can get a little hot in the indoor pool area but it was really, nice with the waterfalls, and the deep section is separate from the shallower section. The water I side is very warm for those that do not like cold pools, however the outdoor pool was much cooler if you like that also. The staff were polite and handled all our questions even when we locked ourself out of our room. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone especially if you have children.
Tip: Indoor pool is humid, Staff is nice

"A good nights rest"
October, 2015
Glenstone Lodge is well located in Gatlinburg for a quick walk downtown. It is an older lodge but was very clean and the air conditoning worked wonderfully!
Tip: It is a busy large lodge so request a room on the backside if you're not with a family.

"Very pleasant stay"
April, 2015
I took my daughter & two grandchildren, ages 6 & 8, for a 2 day stay @ Glenstone Lodge. It was awesome! Kids loved the indoor pool; queen suite was quiet (mountain view), spacious, comfortable, & clean. Staff (all of them!) were friendly & helpful! Breakfast buffet had many selections, convenient & reasonably priced. Internet was not working consistently.
Tip: Historic Trail is a couple blocks off the main drag (Parkway) in Gatlinburg. Parkway traffic was horrible so getting to the hotel takes a while.

Very old establishment. There was a dead ant on my bed, so I called the front desk and they told me that it is possible because the room was exterior facing. The hotel could use some serious updates. I wouldn't star in this hotel again.

"Do NOT accept a poolside room!"

We ended up with a poolside room. The room was marginally clean, (with exception of the garbage under the nightstand upon arrival) had no wifi, and was far too noisy and damp. The door is not even remotely sealed, as evidenced by the one-inch gap under the door and the daylight visible around the closed door. This causes all of the moisture in the air (due to the waterfall) to make the room extremely damp. Between the waterfall and the people in the pool, it is very noisy. (Not helped by a door that is not even close to being sealed) Then, to top that off there was a wedding one night in the banquet/meeting area which is across the pool from the guest rooms. So that night, we also had to deal with the loud music coming from a wedding. The noise echoes and reverberates in the pool area. I reported that the wifi was not working on 3 occasions. On the third attempt, at least the manager acknowledged my complaint. However, my Apple products were blamed, although my friend had 2 Android products which experienced the same issue.

We arrived with no reservation and walked in to find out about a room. We could tell this was an older hotel but after walking inside I was pleasantly surprised not to find the "old hotel" smell that you normally find. The lobby was nicely decorated and smelled clean. We asked about a room, was told that they only had one room available for the three nights we were hoping to stay. We asked if we could first look at the room, we have found that just because the lobby looks nice it doesn't mean the rest of the hotel is. The manager took us to the room so we could look around. We found a nice room with updated mattresses and bedding and a comfy chair. We decided to take the room and asked if there would be a problem if we decided to leave a day early since the weather was not being cooperative. We were assured it would be fine. I asked about breakfast, it was not included but for $6/person you can enjoy a mini-buffet (Mon-Fri) which consisted of: sausage, bacon, eggs, fried potatoes, biscuits, gravy, grits, fresh fruit, danishes & muffins. The drink was not included during the week (weekend included coffee but the price was slightly higher, however it also included an omelet & waffle station and someone to cook both for you). The server that we had for breakfast was extremely friendly and interacted well with the guests. It was better than your average "free" breakfast and you won't find as much food for that little of price. We took advantage of the pool on our last night there. The pool closes at 11 p.m. because there are many rooms that open up into the pool area. The attendant came through at 10:45 and told everyone that in 15 minutes it would be lights out. The pool area was very nice and quite busy each time we came through. We did end up leaving a day early and check-out was quite easy. Each staff member we interacted with was extremely nice and helpful whenever they were asked a question. The only drawback is there is limited parking out front. We ended up parking in the back of the building after the first night, but were able to enter thru the pool area and access the elevator very easily. The trolley stops right by the hotel, however it is just a short walk down the hill to the parkway. I did not realize that they had an outdoor pool, although apparently we drove past it to park. There are no signs that point to the ice machines either, I had to ask someone from housekeeping where the machine was. A map of the property would be helpful for guests detailing where everything is located and times of operation, cost of breakfast, etc. I am really pleased we found this hidden gem in Gatlinburg. We will definitely be back!

This motel/lodge is quite an older establishment, the only updates seem to be the bed linen, paint, and some carpeting. We had 2 rooms, 1 was located on the 2nd floor facing the outdoor pool with an outside access. The other room was inside the main lodge on the 4th floor. The elevator used to get to the 2nd floor seemed like a service elevator and was very slow. Upon entering the room the water was not working but that came back on after being in the room 15 or 20 minutes. The elevator in the main lodge was slow as well. The a/c units seemed to stop cooling especially at night by night 3. The breakfast is $6 during the week and $9.99 on weekends and it appeared you would do better to eat at one of the restaurants down the street. There is the option of the indoor or outdoor pools which both are of nice size. The lodge is located in a great area about 2 blocks from downtown which has many attractions, restaurants, stores, etc. The beds are very comfortable, I can say, I did sleep very well minus the lack of cool air. If you are not expecting an extravagant place, this is it.

The chlorine smell does hit you when one first walks into the hotel. Our room was nice and clean, but after the first night we had to switch rooms due to the air conditioning not working. Then the next day, the water was shut off for about an hour due to a broken pipe. The people working at the front desk were nice and were helpful with these issues. The food served during the week was okay not special.
