"Amazing Vacation Amazing Place!"
June, 2016
This was our second stay at Glenstone Lodge and I must say they are very consistent. The room was clean and everything worked as it should, wifi was nice and didn't drop out or lag. It can get a little hot in the indoor pool area but it was really, nice with the waterfalls, and the deep section is separate from the shallower section. The water I side is very warm for those that do not like cold pools, however the outdoor pool was much cooler if you like that also. The staff were polite and handled all our questions even when we locked ourself out of our room. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone especially if you have children.
Tip: Indoor pool is humid, Staff is nice

"A good nights rest"

Glenstone Lodge is well located in Gatlinburg for a quick walk downtown. It is an older lodge but was very clean and the air conditoning worked wonderfully!
Tip: It is a busy large lodge so request a room on the backside if you're not with a family.

"Very pleasant stay"
April, 2015
I took my daughter & two grandchildren, ages 6 & 8, for a 2 day stay @ Glenstone Lodge. It was awesome! Kids loved the indoor pool; queen suite was quiet (mountain view), spacious, comfortable, & clean. Staff (all of them!) were friendly & helpful! Breakfast buffet had many selections, convenient & reasonably priced. Internet was not working consistently.
Tip: Historic Trail is a couple blocks off the main drag (Parkway) in Gatlinburg. Parkway traffic was horrible so getting to the hotel takes a while.

We stayed overnight here with family and then we checked into our cabin that we had booked. This hotel was very nice, the room was clean and the balcony although small was a nice addition. We got to hear the church bells and even walked to breakfast just down the street. The Pool was very busy the night we were there. And it closes exactly at the time that is posted.

This hotel was built in 1979 and although it may have had a little remodel, it is in desperate need of a major overhaul. Hall carpeting was loose and worn, and the lighting was dim. My room lacked amenities such as towel bars to hang a used towel on, or grab bars in the tub and shower. There were two chairs, but no side table on which to set a cup of coffee or anything else. The shower was not adjustable (because the knob to change the spray pattern was missing) and it whistled loudly while taking a shower. The bathroom door would not fully close. While there, for 4 days, the carpet in our room was not swept as was evidenced by some small pieces of paper on the floor, that stayed there day after day. The room had a flat screen TV that was good, and a refrigerator, but no microwave. In room coffee was OK but you had to ask for more than 2 cups. There was a video at the entrance of the lobby elevator, stating that there are plans to remodel the rooms and the pool areas. As the few days progressed, a dumpster was brought in and furnishings from many of the rooms were being hauled out and thrown in to it. I assume that this is the beginning of the remodel. None too soon! During the week, the restaurant is really not open (at least in mid-September) they did provide a breakfast buffet at $6.95 which was okay, but not up to the standards of many hotels that include the breakfast in the room rates. This breakfast buffet went up to $9.95 Friday and Saturday mornings. For the higher price, there was a cook who would prepare your eggs to your specification. All in all, the accommodations were adequate, but certainly not outstanding. Giving them the benefit of a doubt, maybe when the remodel is complete, it will be more in keeping with modern standards.

"Disgusting hotel!!"

Looks can be deceiving; the pictures online "seem" to make the hotel look very nice but BEWARE! The hotel was dusty, the elevator smelled like pee, and the furnishings are old. There were large shelves just sitting out in the hallway of the floor we were staying on. A young man in the jacuzzi asked our 21 year old daughter if she wanted to go back to his room to have sex, which was said in front of our 14 year old son. The people were creepy and the place is disgusting. We had booked this hotel for 3 nights, we left after the first night. What a disappointment! Also, our son got sick with a serious eye infection 48 hours after he was in the pool and jacuzzi. We can't say for sure but we wonder if the water was not disinfected properly causing the infection. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

A very short and pleasant walk to the main strip of Gatlinburg. For the price, I love this place! It is clean, quiet, & comfy. Really enjoyed the super friendly staff. We stayed on the 5th floor...A little odd feeling having the cleaning staff milling around the couches up there as if they were in a breakroom...but hopefully that us not the norm. The hotel has remodeling under way right now, but not one time did I feel it got in the way of my stay. I will absolutely stay here again.

"Highly displeased"

I'm sure I will probably miss something here, but I don't even know where to start. The first thing we noticed was the lobby smelled awful. Not only that but the carpet had stains and rips. We stayed because the room was already booked and outings planned. We thought if you include the price of the outings, the "resort" was still a pretty good deal. This is no resort. After staying the first half of the week at Wilderness at the Smokies, I wish we had stayed there and just drove to Gatlinburg to do what we had planned. I had read some negative reviews, but had also read about a great remodel recently. This place has not been remodeled. It has been patched and paint has been thrown around. It's a motel with room doors located outside. The headboards looked new, but that was about it. But I'm getting ahead of myself. The next thing we noticed was the elevator. It also stunk and had the same type of lights we would find above the sink. There were so many dead bugs in the lights that I don't know how it handled the weight (exaggeration, but only a little). Probably the thing that ticked me off the most was the fact that we were one of only about four rooms booked through the week, and they put us in the middle of the second floor away from the pool, on the outside, and with a family with really rowdy kids next to us. The outside part could have been ok, because the view of the Smoky Mountains is nice, but there was construction of what looks like another hotel right next door. Did I mention they began at 7:00 a.m. each morning. Then there was the paint. The room is painted the ugliest green imaginable. It looks like pistachio ice cream. Then the doors are painted pale pink. The room smelled so bad that we immediately went to the downtown strip to find a candle to burn. The rust on and around the doors was poorly covered, or at least attempted, but rust still showed through on the doors, hinges and door frames. As you can see in the pictures, there was paint slopped all around the room. There was also a huge gap under the door, which made the a/c run all of the time. It was a loud, old style of unit, which made sleep hard. And to top it all off, there was what appeared to be blood splatter spots on the wall. We decided not to attempt to bear the smell for the breakfast buffet and went out for every meal. The one redeeming factor in this place at all was the pool. They have a multi-level infinity type pool with a hot tub attached. The only problem with it is you have only 3-4 ft and 9 ft to choose from. There's no happy medium. Come to think of it, there was little happy to be found at all in this place.
