"Decent weekend visit at the Edgewater"

Made a trip to Gatlinburg for the Christmas parade. Chose to stay at the Edgewater due to the downtown location. I haven't stayed at the Edgewater in over 25 years. It has been a mainstay hotel in Gatlinburg for decades. It looked as if there have been building renovations in recent months. The staff provided friendly service. The parking garage needs to be redesigned as most people did not park properly, leaving open holes unable fit a vehicle. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom needs remodeling and updating. The shower provided hot water but limited pressure. The breakfast offering was very limited and not really worth your time. It is better to get a cup of coffee and find breakfast elsewhere. Overall, not a bad stay but probably won't be back.

We came here on a last minute day trip and didn't book a room but when we called the staff were Easter to help us and got us a room. Such nice staff and a wonderful continental breakfast. Would recommend this hotel to anyone and we would stay here again.

"Short weekend trip to the Smokey mountains"

The hotel was nice. The rooms were comfortable and quiet. We thought we booked a river view or mountain view but received a rear view of the maintenance bins and a wall of trees. Little disappointed. Heated pool was a plus, hotel towels were small. The continental breakfast was adequate and staff were very friendly. Parking was covered but not good for really tall trucks.

"Got Spooked By A Bear"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5
Reviewed November 28, 2018 NEW
My husband, granddaughter and I stayed here a couple days in November 2018. It was a very clean, spacious room and the balcony was a plus. Our 5 year old granddaughter enjoyed the pool. We decided to head back early due to our granddaughter having a slight fever, so we go and load all our things in our vehicle down in the garage and my husband goes to take the roller cart back in, I had got our granddaughter in and buckled up shut the door when suddenly I see a really large black shadow to the side of us and realized it was an enormous black bear, I wasted no time getting in the vehichle and locking the doors lol. My husband got to see it too, it had walked out going up the hill in front of the other hotel on the front side of garage so be cautious in garage at night and don't let the bear sneak up on you as it did me. Lol
