"friendly staff and clean rooms"

we stayed in the king bed room. The room was nicely decorated and clean. It is convenient to several things in the pigeon forge Area. They offer free breakfast with biscuits, eggs, and pancakes. We will definitely stay again.

"Romantic Tenn. Getaway"

The Econo Lodge exceeded all of our expectations. Very clean. The pics on the web were very accurate. No surprises! Using Reserve Gatlinburg was smooth and easy.
Tip: This is an Econo lodge not the Waldorf. For this type of hotel this one was great!

"Second Stay"

Rooms are clean, however carpet could use replacement. Request to have an interior room - surrounding pool. Bathtubs are raised - not small child or elderly friendly. There is a kiddie pool, regular pool and hot tub - all indoors. The "game room" is really few claw machines, so don't let it be your deciding factor. Breakfast is decent - one meat, eggs, pre-made waffles, cereals. Suitable for a budget option.

"Love this hotel"

We stayed her for a few nights in October. This was our second time at this hotel since we liked it so much the first time. Rooms are clean. Staff is friendly. Price was decent. Love feeding the ducks out back. Breakfast is average, nothing special, but not awful either. Pool is nice. Wish there was more to do in walking distance, but not the hotels fault. No real complaints. Would definitely stay here again.

"Great Property"

This hotel is constantly booked on the weekends and there is a reason for it. From the moment you walk you know this isn't your typical Econo Lodge. Rooms were very spacious and clean. Breakfast area was large and well staffed. The pool is great with a separate kids pool , both indoors. My only complaint , although minor, is that we got a poolside room and the smell of chlorine was prevalent. Staff was friendly all around, on par with Disney standards. A good tip if you have kids is to get a River View room and enjoy the ducks .

"Best Econo Lodge You'll Ever Find"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5
Reviewed October 11, 2016 NEW
The Econo Lodge Riverside is most likely the best Econo Lodge you'll ever find. I have visited the Smokies (both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge) at least once a year for the past 25 years, and my family enjoys finding a new place to enjoy from time to time. I will note that I spent six years working in the hotel industry in the past including two years as a hotel manager. Most of that time was spent at a Fairfield Inn by Marriott, but I did spend some time managing a Comfort Inn & Suites as well. It was during this time that I became familiar with the Choice Hotel properties and discovered this hidden gem in Pigeon Forge. I have stayed at the Econo Lodge Riverside multiple times over the past five years now, but this review will focus on the most recent stay. THE GOOD: The check-in was fairly quick and efficient. They did verify the reservation details and give me a map of the hotel to show me where my room was located. I wouldn't say that they were overly friendly, but the hotel was sold out. I've been there, and I understand the need to be as efficient with your time as possible. After all, the hotel is something like 201 rooms. The room itself was very clean and well put together. I reserved a suite (Room 103) which consists of two small adjoining rooms. The first room has a king bed, a small kitchen area, and the bathroom. The second room has a sleeper sofa, kitchen table, and bunk beds. Each room has its own tv. The beds were very comfortable (including the bunk beds), and they did stock the bathroom with plenty of towels and wash cloths. The water pressure was good...not great...but good; especially, again, for being sold out. At 9pm, there was still plenty of parking left (which can be an issue at some hotels when they are sold out). The breakfast area was almost completely full at 8:30am, but the breakfast attendants were very attentive. The food was well stocked: sausage links, eggs, gravy and biscuits, waffles and French toast, cereal, and a few other items. Additionally, this hotel is a bit older, but I think they do an exceptional job with keeping it clean and appealing. The landscaping is always very nice, and they have a few great spots on the grounds to step away from the parkway and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. THE BAD: 1---The hotel has a couple of "designated smoking areas". Unfortunately, one of these is in the courtyard area and another one was about 10 feet from my suite. I don't quite think that these are the best choices for smoking locations. 2---For 200+ rooms, the pool area is tiny. It was crammed full since the hotel was sold out. 3---This hotel also has a small arcade room. In the past years, I enjoyed the nostalgia of throwing some quarters away to play Ms. Pac-Man as well as some other random arcade games. This year, they've replaced all of those arcade games with a room full of crane games (full of mostly old and useless junk). 4---Breakfast hours are a bit short at 7am to 10am. 5---Another minimal issue, but there was no clock in the second room of the suite. THE BOTTOM LINE: The Econo Lodge Riverside is a good value in the area. The negative issues are normally minimal (if any), and I've always left satisfied with my stay. Even at $140/night for my suite during this busy week, it was worth it. During a slower season, I've stayed in a standard room (which does seem slightly small) for under $60/night. That's a steal. I will never hesitate to check this hotel's rates and availability for each and every vacation I plan to The Smokies. It's also worth noting that Choice Hotels recognizes the top performers in all of their brands, and this Econo Lodge is consistently a Gold (top 10% of the brand) or Platinum Award Winner (top 3% of the brand). The plaques are on the walls around the front desk in case you're ever curious.

"They cancelled my room and lied!!"
TripAdvisor user rating 1 out of 5
Reviewed October 07, 2016 NEW
I booked a room through booking.com, when arriving, I was told that booking.com had cancelled my room due to an expired debit card. Well I had it in my app so I knew that was a lie, I still had confirmation, and spoke with an agent from booking.com and they had no knowledge of my room being cancelled. The representative at Econo lodge refused me a room, left me and my 3 kids with no where to stay after driving 6 hours there... I wish I could leave no stars. Booking.com is refunding me the difference between my rate I was offered and what we had to pay. I advise anyone to use them, wonderful people.
