"Good equiptment, but not exactly the experience that is advertised."
October, 2015
I went to this zipline having done big ziplines like the one at the Ocoee. I was thinking that "Zipping through the Smokies" would be actually going through the mountains, getting above the trees. No doubt it was still fun, all of the staff was good and the equipment was good but the zip was a little boring. There are 5 zips you just go around in a circle and you stay below the trees the entire time. It isn't fast or very exciting. The scenery is beautiful though.

I would recommend this to beginners who want to experience zip lining but don't like being up too high.

We visited when we took our granddaughter on her generation skipping trip. This whitewater trip was one of the highlights of our trip. We had chosen the upper portion with Class III and IV rapids - and we experienced a rafting trip worth every penny we paid! Our guide Russ had assigned us to the back of the raft, there where four more people in front of us, and at the very front of the raft was Helena, our 9 year old! She was not really happy, but accepted the authority of our guide Russ, who based his seat assignments on many years of experience, and also on the fact that she had no paddle to help guide our raft. After we had passed the first three rapids, including the photo taking point, we were all wet through and through. At this point Russ guided the raft into calmer waters and got Helena to sit in the back of the raft away from the worst water coming into the raft. And all the time he asked and made sure Helena felt save! At the end of the trip we all agreed what a wonderful experience that was, and what a great guide Russ is.

Highly recommend booking your rafting trip with these outfitters, the guides are awesome and the rafting is amazing. There were more 3 and 4 rating rapids than 1-2, so if you are looking for a wild ride down the Pigeon River go with them on the Upper River and you will get the ride you are looking for.

"Wonderful 1st Time Rafting Experience for my Teens"

We rafted down the Pigeon River on the last day of the season. My husband and I had rafted with Rafting in the Smokies before we had kids and were happy to raft with them again. It was our teenage girls’ first time and they loved it! Celeste, our rafting guide, was very knowledgeable of the river. We were given great instructions prior to the trip on safety and how not to fall out of the boat. Because it was so late in the season, there was not a controlled water flow, just natural. It was a little tricky in spots, but Celeste coached us safely through. We made wonderful family memories and will definitely raft with this company again!

"Great rafting experience; not so much zip lining"

My husband and I really enjoyed the rafting experience. It was exciting enough for his adventuresome nature but not so rough a ride that I was too scared. Our guide was great - his name is Fletcher. Fletcher was funny, patient. and helpful. We knew we were in good hands while he was in charge of our raft. There were pretty scary rapids but also a quiet part of the river where you could jump in and swim. The zip lining was more for novices and people who didn't want too scary an experience which is good however my husband & I were expecting longer zip lines and to be higher up in the air. The entire grounds of the rafting company are beautiful and all of the staff were super great and helpful. We bought water shoes and bands to hold our glasses on at the rafting company store before the rafting trip. The prices are very reasonable. The prices of the rafting and zip lining were reasonable and a good deal.
