"Beautiful"
August, 2016
This was the highlight of our vacation! The teenagers enjoyed the birds. It is a beautiful peaceful place. We enjoyed feeding the nectar to the birds and getting our pic taken for a small fee! Our whole family enjoyed the visit
Tip: The parking is pretty bad and the parking lot is very steep! It levels out a little inside

"Fantastic Visit"
August, 2016
This was an amazing visit for our group. We had 15 people with us at the time of our visit and the staff made sure everyone had a wonderful time. They made sure our pictures were beautiful and that the kids handled as many birds as they wanted to. The grounds were clean and beautiful and all of the birds looked well kept and taken care of. This was one of the kids favorite experiences over our vacation. Thanks for having us and we will definitely be back to visit!
Tip: Bring your camera and be prepared to walk uphill and down.

"Great time"

I love going here, I try to go every trip! I love interacting with the birds and I have a few favorite ones I go see. Some can be a little crabby and bite you when you try to feed them so watch out on that. Good fun and so relaxing.

"Very disappointed"
June, 2016
I was at parrot mountain today. I came with my handicap neice. She don't walk, talk or understand. Someone told ask about taking the golf cart. We didn't get to see everything. Never went to garden of Eden. But you charged me for a childs rate and 25.00 for the golf cart. I just think you should of waved the cart fee. It was not easy to push her up to the entrance. Just think you should be alittle more kinder to handicap children/young adults. I know not all handicap are the same.
Tip: If pushing a wheelchair think twice about going.

"Fantastic Trip for Bird Lovers"
October, 2015
It was an amazing and breathtaking experience for avian fanatics. My boyfriend who isn't into birds loved it because he was able to interact with each unique bird with its own talent. I love seeing them not being trapped in their cages and move freely. I really enjoyed feeding nectar to the lorikeets. They eat very quickly and love shiny things. Definitely worth my entire wallet. I drove from the Northeast just for this and I was not disappointed. Wish TN wasn't so far away!
Tip: The mountain is extremely steep and the roads are super windy!!! Please drive carefully. I wish they had a little bus that could pick up everyone from the bottom.

We were excited to visit the area. While being on vacation we began missing our animals and while there were people around with their dogs who allowed us to pet and love on them a minute we were still missing our birdie love. Enter Parrot Mountain. I had heard good things about this place and so while we were in the area we decided to take advantage. Upon entering we quickly realized that this would be a uphill battle. Haha. This is a mountain least we forget but the way the cages and perches are placed are just beautiful. We really enjoyed looking at all the beautiful and exotic birds. When we got to the place where you can hold them, there were also ones who you couldn't touch. They bite. There were 2 that my husband and I fell in love with. Pete, one who bites, and another peach cockatoo who didn't like to be held. This one when we tried to feed her she bowed her head and wanted pets, just couldn't get enough. This just broke our hearts. She was obviously someone's pet at one time. Pete on the other hand, was quite a character, he like our bird at home talked your leg off. He and my husband had quite the conversation. When we ask if we could hold the peach cockatoo, the guide helping said she didn't like to be held but here is a male same type, and handed us a different bird. Now maybe we are weird but when we wanted to hold a bird it was because we made a connection with that animal. But the male was nice but not what I wanted. So we settled for just petting the one. When we reached the end we were surprised to see a nursery, so we went in. I was shocked. These birds were for sale. As a bird owner I know what it takes to care for one. These birds live for a long time. They do yell and scream at times of boredom and excitement. At no time were we told of the qualification needed to take one home. This is a sanctuary for abused and forgotten birds. Some that we saw had missing toes, butchered beaks, and had pulled most of their feathers out from stress. I would have loved to have adopted a bird just with financial support. I feel that adopting them out May just be a revolving door process. This is not something to enter lightly. Much more so than a dog or cat. This was the only let down of the tour. I did send in my support financially but would have liked to be able to choose the bird I support. If only in name only.

Fun time seeing lots of different type of birds on display. You are also able to feed some and get your picture taken with others for a fee, they arrange birds to sit on you arm, shoulder ect for the picture. They are also a rehab spot for Injured birds. This is on the mountain so is hilly but they do have golf carts that employees will take those not physically up to walk around in. Oaths are paved so you can take a stoller.
