Temptations Revue Now Showing at Smoky Mountain Theater

The Smoky Mountain Theater, formerly known as the Smoky Mountain Jubilee, has reopened in 2009 with an all new show. The Temptations Revue: A Tribute Featuring Nate Evans is a Motown-centric gem featuring favorites like “Ain’t Too Proud Too Beg,” “My Girl,” and “Get Ready.”

The theater has been newly remodeled for the 2009 season, and with over 800 seats, the Smoky Mountain Theater is ready to bring the style and hits of Motown home to Pigeon Forge. The Temptations are known worldwide for their distinct harmonies, choreography and style and their music is still a favorite of many. With over 50 recorded albums, 50 pop and 51 R&B singles in the top ten there is plenty of Motown music for them to deliver each night.

The Temptations Revue stars Nate Evans, who is joined by Ritchie Stanley, Joe Cross, Curtis Taylor and Reggie Reed. Temptation Revue tickets are on sale now.

  • We were in Pigeon Forge on 7/12/09 and we went to see the Temptations Revue show. We thought we were in Las Vegas for the outstanding show and performance they put on. We enjoyed meeting the group and getting their autographs on the DVD's. We loved it!!!!

  • As a lifelong Motown and soul fan I went into the Smokey Mountain Theater to watch the Temptations with great expectations and some fear that I would be disappointed. My fears were gone within 30 seconds of the show starting. Nate Evans and the rest of the group were for the lack of a better work, amazing. Their music was as good as I remembered if from the 60’s. The songs were true to the style and era. Their moves, their dance steps, just simply the most I could have hoped for. I hate to pick out just one of the four others but Curtis Taylor (I think that is his last name) was awesome. Not only did the show have their best tunes, but they had some really good show skits and some funny things.

We went to Pigeon Forge in July of 09 and actually drove 12 hours round trip just two weeks ago to watch them again (they are that good). Nate announced at that time they will be having a Christmas show in December and will be returning for another year starting in March of 2010. Folks, if you want some great entertainment, some good times, a relaxing evening reliving the best music and showmanship, you have to go see these guys. The theater is nice, small, your right on top of the music and they have a meet and greet after the show where you can talk to the singers and band and get pictures taken (no charge).

So head to Pigeon Forge and “go for the ride”. (You will understand the “ride” when you see the show).

Thanks Nate and gang for the best evening I could have hoped for.

  • I have seen the Temptations Revue show about 20 times and tomorrow we will be going back for their final three shows of the year. The best performance of Motown sound you will ever hear without a doubt. The guys are so down to earth and very friendly and I have come to know them on a first name basis now. The band members are excellent also, especially Junei, the guitarist. Anyone going to Pigeon Forge, Tn. this weekend definitely needs to see this show. Nate, with his powerful voice, the pure sound of Curtis, the sweet smile of Ritchie, the bass down low of Joe, and Reggie's comical side are what makes this show the best I've ever seen anywhere.
